Slideluck Potshow Austin
Here are two slides from my “short stories” submission that was accepted in the Slideluck Potshow (SLPS) that is happening this Saturday at
Shangri-La. My “short stories” series is an on-going body of work and the slideshow consists of new work that I completed this year.
The SLPS is a part of the E.A.S.T. art tour in Austin this weekend. If you have never been to this event you should make the effort. The SLPS was
founded in 2000 in NYC and has been happening worldwide since then. It had its Austin debut last year. You can find the history of this event
here. The potluck dinner, that is open to the public, begins at 7pm before the slideshow. The slideshow itself begins at 9pm. You can find the
particulars here. I hope to see you at the show on Saturday night.
the meadowlands
While visiting NJ, I went and visited DeKorte Park. The literature stated this was an urban estuary and educational area. The park includes a
repurposed landfill, a marsh boardwalk, and utility service roads. There weren’t many birds around but there was a nice sunset.
W&TW Fundraiser Show
This is the piece I have in the W&TW fundraiser that opens tonight. This is a once a year event that
raises money for the amazing Woman and Their Work Gallery here in Austin. The show is titled
“Red Hot, Red Dot” with all the artwork priced at $500 or below so there are always some amazing buys.
If you are in town, try and make it out for a good cause. Here is the info. If you can’t make it to the
gallery tonight, the show runs through September 29th if you are interested in seeing the show.
There is always a stellar group of artists involved.
