I went out to see the Watt’s Towers yesterday. I have been thinking a lot lately about how I spend my time and what does a lifetime’s accumulation of hours amount to. Well, in the case of Simon Rodia, it amounted to the lasting legacy of the Watt’s Towers. Rodia spent all his spare time for 33 years creating this art piece. The project was started when the man was in his forties. I wonder if he was having a mid-life crisis? The age seems ripe for a reflection of the meaning of life.
